From the Salone del Mobile 2012

If you missed the Salon del Mobile 2012, here in an extract from Axor Hansgrohe’s newsletter about trends.

‘Every human-being lives differently. Just this simple realisation might well be the reason why we had  to look around for quite some time at the Milan furniture trade fair to identify the key trends. One thing is certain: variety shapes and makes personal living possible. Apart from individuality and flexibility (materials, surfaces, etc.) we found the following things particularly noticable. Use of colour was very popular, but also classical colour combinations — e.g. black and white — are in high demand.  Large and bulky materials and appearances have largely been rejected in favour of gentle, light elements and components. Natural and structured materials such as untreated timber and chunky wool fabric are still very popular. Sustainability is also becoming increasingly important in luxury designer products.’
